Cubit Estimating 2025 July (13.0.1) is now available

July 18, 2025

We’re always listening to your feedback and are committed to enhancing your estimating experience. The latest Cubit Estimating update introduces a variety of improvements that help make your estimating workflows faster, clearer, and more collaborative.

Let’s take a look at what’s new.

Stay up to date with the new Job Refresh Prompt

In fast-paced estimating environments, team members often work on the same job concurrently. Previously, when a plan was replaced by another user, you might have been caught reloading an outdated version, potentially leading to confusion, wasted time, or even redundant effort when reloading plans.

With the new Job Refresh Prompt, Cubit Estimating proactively alerts you before loading a plan that has been updated by another user.  This enhanced workflow lets you refresh the job first to avoid loading an outdated plan, ensuring a smoother process and saving valuable time.

Enjoy a smoother experience when using Shape editing tools when collaborating

When multiple trades are collaborating on the same job, it’s essential to know what actions are available – without interrupting your workflow. That’s why in this release we’re introducing a simple but effective improvement to Cubit Estimating’s Shared Access Mode.

Now when a shape is locked by another trade, key editing tools – Add Point, Remove Point, and Edit on Select – are visually greyed out, giving you immediate clarity that these options are temporarily unavailable.

This subtle enhancement creates a more intuitive estimating experience, helping you stay focused on what matters – performing accurate takeoffs faster.

Work faster with new keyboard shortcuts for Include and Exclude pricing.

When you’re trying to get your estimate completed, even the smallest shortcut can make a big difference. That’s why Cubit Estimating now supports keyboard shortcuts for quickly toggling pricing between INCL (inclusive) – by using “I”, and EXCL (exclusive) – by using “E”, in the Estimate Sheet.

With a simple keystroke, you can instantly set item pricing without breaking your flow or reaching for the mouse, making repetitive tasks more efficient than ever.

Improvements

  • Keyboard Shortcuts for INCL/EXCL: Introduced keyboard shortcuts for marking item pricing as INCL or EXCL in the estimate sheet.
  • Job Refresh Prompt Enhancements: When a plan has been replaced by another user, the system now prompts users to refresh the job before it begins loading, saving time and avoiding redundant reloads.
  • Visual Feedback for Shape Editing in Shared Access: The Add Point, Remove Point, and Edit on Select options are now visually disabled when a shape is locked by another trade, clearly indicating their unavailability and reducing user confusion in shared access scenarios.
  • PostgreSQL 16.9 for New Installs: New installations now default to PostgreSQL 16.9, offering improved performance and system-level enhancements.

Bug Fixes

  • Restored functionality of the F4 “Copy Down” command for the Result column.
  • Resolved a multi-user sync issue where quantity changes from one user rescaling a plan were not reflected when another user refreshed the job.
  • Resolved an issue causing job load failures due to invalid references.
  • Adjusted markup and sales tax dialog calculations to ensure accuracy when variations are present.
  • Corrected display behaviour of the Eye icon in the Plans pane when opening/closing plans.
  • Resolved a crash in Job Manager that occurred when grouping jobs with headings with no child items.
  • Solved intermittent failures during IFC file imports.
